Historic Deluxe
Luxury accommodations in the Napa Valley begin with our Deluxe Historic Staterooms.
Like a visit to another era, these rooms are in the original Hatt Building built in
1884, now listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Colorful area rugs lay
over exposed white rock maple tongue and groove plank flooring, originally a roller rink
from 1900 to 1930. Generous rooms with fireplaces, king canopy beds, hardwood flooring,
tufted lounge chairs, velvet ottomans, old fashioned slipper tubs and walk-in showers
combine to make your stay full of all the splendors of the Historic Napa Mill. This
room is perfect for a honeymoon, anniversary or just a romantic getaway.
The Historic Deluxe rooms were originally part of the second floor roller-skating rink
which was later used as a basketball court, armory and storage. The room retains the
original tongue and groove White Rock maple flooring of the skating rink, clay brick
wall, original windows and exact replicas of the original molding and trim found in Hatt
Hall.
When constructing the tile floors, a piece of the original maple flooring was removed and
on the back side handwritten in pencil, was the inscription, "Vernon Gerrish, Cadillac,
Michigan, August 29th, 1885". This piece of flooring is now on display in the Hotel's
Lobby.
